Teri, great question! I’ve added directions for cooking the apple butter on your stove. Check out the steps under “Stovetop Method” above. Thanks for asking, ~Eliza

I’m off the grid and a crock pot isn’t an option.

I am taking chair yoga twice a week and learning to breath is an important part of our sessions.
My old bones are a bit stiff but it’s worth the effort.

Comment on Easy Peach Preserves Recipe with Pectin by Eliza Cross https://www.happysimpleliving.com/make-your-own-peach-preserves/comment-page-1/#comment-213460 Tue, 22 Jul 2025 11:41:45 +0000 http://urbanhomesteader.wordpress.com/?p=294#comment-213460 In reply to Donna.

Donna, great question! Because they’re processed in a canning bath, the jars can be stored in your pantry just like a jar of store-bought jam. Once you open the jar of preserves, reseal it tightly and store in the refrigerator. My family loves the fresh peach flavor of this jam, and I hope you do, too! ~Eliza

I’m a little confused regarding the storage of the preserves. It states to store the jam jars in a cool, dark place. Are you saying these don’t need refrigeration?
