Gratitude—use your pen

Watching the autumn sun set out my west facing window. Even with the waning daylight I am reminded that with each sunset comes the promise of a sunrise. Each day is the opportunity to pick up our pen and write our story.

So often we allow others to hold our pens. We allow others to pen our story through should dos, ought to do, shouldn’t do. You get the idea.

The best way to take back our pen is to refocus our complaints. Begin to voice that which makes us happy. The simple graces that fill our lives with joy. When we take back our pen, we choose our joy. We write that which fills our hearts. Create the habit of halting our own complaining and replacing complaints with something that sparks joy, brings happiness, is a blessing. Take a moment to mentally pen a short list of blessings and use to replace words of complaint!

Be Kind; Be Patient; Learn from those who teach you (our teachers are many and often surprising), Take care of our earth and most importantly, Do your own work!
